North Lanarkshire Diamond Jubilee Art Competition 2012 Winner Category 5 is James Bennett!

James Bennett created a beautiful still life drawing over the Easter Holidays in the school when he attended one of the Art Departments master classes that we hold each year to help pupils prepare for the practical exam and complete Higher artwork. James was one of the S4 pupils who attended both days and he created this drawing that went on to beat 250 other pupils to win the highest category in this competition. For his prize he will get a digital camera from NLC and we as a department get a camera too! James’ artwork will be professionally framed and on display at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life from the 26th of May until the 17th of June. You can see James’ pastel drawing in the  photo below (of all my competition entries) in the top and centre of the image with a red tea cup featuring in his composition. It just goes to show you that hard work and practice pays off- James is the well deserved winner and I am so pleased for him!
